Rabbi Michael Cohen is a passionate educator who focuses on engaging teachers and students to think about how they use technology to generate meaningful learning experiences. This driving force has inspired Michael to develop the “Invisible iPad” approach to technology use in education which was featured on the popular education blog MindShift.com. Due to this innovative approach, Michael was selected to join the Apple Distinguished Educators Class of 2015.Michael is currently the Director of Educational Technology at the Harkham Hillel Hebrew Academy in Beverly Hills where he supports faculty in building technology-rich 21st-Century learning experiences for students. Prior to joining Hillel, Michael taught Visual Communication and Design at Michael Diller High School, and the Fashion Institute for Design and Merchandising (FIDM).In hopes to share his vision of the “Invisible iPad” philosophy, Michael has presented at conferences including EdTechTeacher’s Leading Futures Summit – Chicago, and iPad Summit – San Diego, and led workshops for multiple institutions.Michael holds a B.F.A. in Printmaking from California State University, Long Beach and Rabbinic Ordination from Rabbi Dovid Schochet of Toronto. He is currently pursuing a Masters of Science in Education specializing in Educational Technology at California State University, Fullerton.
