Thomas Edison Kelly
managing director in New York, NY
Anguillan national and New York resident Thomas Edison Kelly leads the Anguilla Youth Sports Foundation as its founder. Through this organization, he has hosted and organized dozens of events on the island that revolve around sports. These include the annual Anguilla Youth Foundation Sports and Music Week initiative, which has been going on for over a decade. The event features a music festival that has drawn in several major names from the United States, including record producer Ryan Leslie, along with various local artists like Movements and Pantha Vibes. Thomas Edison Kelly of New York also hosts a week-long basketball camp for local youth.
His commitment to sports on Anguilla extends beyond his basketball camp and music festival. In 2011, the Anguilla government announced that it would be hosting a celebrity golf tournament that he initiated. This golf tournament was unique for the island, and served as a major step in helping the island reposition itself as a top destination for sports tourism. It was designed as a collaboration between the entertainment and sports industries, and intended to bring in celebrities from both sectors. He was also involved in hurricane relief efforts on the island following Hurricane Irma in 2017.
