Thomas Finke

Since 2008, Thomas Finke has led financial operations as chairman and CEO of Barings LLC, located in Charlotte, North Carolina. He oversees all financial operations and directs the activity of two subsidiary ventures: Wood Creek Capital Management, LLC, and Cornerstone Real Estate Advisors, LLC. During his tenure at the firm, Thomas Finke has positioned Barings as a global investment presence with $215 billion in managed institutional assets.

He previously served as the co-founder of First Union Institutional Debt Management, a multibillion-dollar enterprise subsequently acquired by Babson Capital Management in 2002. In addition, Finke assisted with high-yield loans and loan syndications in various capacities at Mellon Bank, First Union Capital Markets, and Bear Stearns and Company.

In addition to his professional experience, Thomas Finke holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia McIntire School of Commerce. He received a master of business administration from the Duke University Fuqua School of Business.
