Thomas Staples is an award winning Executive Producer, Film Director, Camera Operator, Technical Director, and Digital Media Producer born in Augusta and raised in Stone Mountain, Georgia,.
Thomas has worked in TV studios ranging from TSU News 98 to Skyway Studios and on set with pilots including celebrity chef Delilah Winder’s “A Taste of Gospel” and “Rip the Runway Hair Awards”. His experience spans a range of diverse shows such as “Black College Quiz”, "ESPN: Monday Night Football" and the “Stellar Awards” in Nashville, where he worked as a Production Associate and Camera Operator for over 10 years. As Lead Video Engineer for Encore Event Technologies, he performed services such as project managing and tech directing for corporate meetings, events and concerts, INC Growco conference, VPOTUS- NGA Summer Meeting (Vice-President of the United States), Bose, American Red Cross and WBCA (Women's Basketball Coaches Association).
In 2011 His passion for video leaked into film and since then he served as Executive Producer, Director and Editor on various short films, winning several awards such as Best Directing and Best Screenplay.
This momentum carried on into his move to New York City where he landed a role at Cheddar.com an OTT TV Network. He started off as a night editor he quickly matriculated to Master Control Operator, Sr. Master Control Operator, and now currently Director of Programming Operations.
While his career continues to progress in NYC he decide it was time to start giving back. It was from his participation in his college Alumni chapter events that he was asked to serve on the board of the non-for-profit Bridging Structural Holes as the executive board secretary. From this position he Executive Produced the online broadcast of the Harlem Renaissance Classic 2023, HBCU Allstar Dream Classic ‘23 and ’24 and was even inducted to the HBCU Pro-Sports Media Association in October of 2024 as a result of his work on the production. As of May of 2025 his production company TS Productions has been honored by both the Viddy and Telly awards with 20 recognitions to date.
