Tiffany Buchanan

Tiffany Buchanan is a dreamer, thinker, teacher, visionary, mom, social justice advocate, revolutionary and community pastoral care provider working to change the world with love one person at a time.

Her undergraduate and graduate academic background is centered and rooted in Sociology; specializing in Organizations & Institutions and Social Psychology. Her academic areas of expertise include: Social Inequality, Social Problems, Survey Research, Religious Pluralism, Qualitative Research, Race and Ethnic Relations, Cultural Worldview Systems, Social Construction of Reality, Development of the Social Self, Human, Social, Cultural Capital, Stratification, Sociology of Developing Countries.

She is a senior Mastor of Divinity student at McCormick Theological Seminary with a primary focus on theology and pastoral care and counseling. She is also a religious and ethics blogger for State of Formation. She currently serves at Jackson Park Hospital as a Chaplain working specifically with the women's and men's behavioral units. Her ideal image of Christian servanthood is captured in the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. who lived out the mandate to love all justly.

The first time she protested she was in 5th grade. Her first time assisting with a federal discrimination case she was 16 years old. As an adult, she fought an organizational discrimination case through federal court and saw it through to a victorious result. She not only teaches about social iniquity she works to change it on a societal level for all people.

She is the Founder and Executive Director of Love Learning Empowerment a non-profit education outreach firm located in Chicago, IL. This is the culmination of her passions for teaching and children, as well as a means for impacting social inequality through empowering, equipping and investing academically.
