Tim West

My name is Tim West. I am currently a senior at the University of Oregon studying business, and I cannot see myself studying any other subject.

At School, I particularly enjoy classes that pertain to marketing and management. I like studying a product's attributes, identifying the target market, and connecting the dots between the two through various forms of communication. I hope that I can make a career out of this by the time I am 30.

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy my extracurricular activities, specifically my involvement in the American Marketing Association. As President, I have made the AMA my number one priority, and have taken pride in the organization's growth over the past year. I am the leader of an outstanding executive board, and I give them much of the credit for our organization's success. Together we have increased membership numbers and have provided outstanding opportunities for our members to gain real-world experience.

While at school, I have also developed a passion for rock climbing. I have been heavily involved in team sports my entire live, so rock climbing is my first experience in a truly individual sport. I love the many challenges that rock climbing provides, as well as the thrill of overcoming these challenges 50 feet off the ground. I plan to continue rock climbing long after I graduate college.

Overall I am a very driven individual. I feel that improving oneself is a life-long endeavor that should never cease. I read self-improvement books in hopes of becoming the best possible version of me. I seek out challenges that I know I am not ready for, just to prove to myself that i can do anything I set my mind too. I operated my own successful business while simultaneously fulfilling my duties as President of an organization just to prove to myself that I could, and now my self-confidence has never been greater. Now, I am actively seeking out my next challenge to improve myself even further.
