Tim 'Red' Wakeham
Tim ‘Red’ Wakeham has been the Director of Strength and Conditioning for a majority of the Olympic Sports at Michigan State University since October, 1996. During his time at MSU, Red and his talented staff have brought their Spartans to the highest level of mental and physical preparedness. Specifically, Red and his staff have developed a Spartan Nutrition education program; the House of Sparta Key Holder’s Award; the Signature Strength Conditioning Board; a sport-specific ACL Prevention Program; over 30 sport-specific conditioning protocols; a new state of the art training facility; a leadership training program; a physical recovery and mental rejuvenation program; and a password protected website that includes quick time movies of exercises, workouts and highlight videos. Additionally, Red has over 50 published articles (two national cover articles); three book chapters; over 100 speaking engagements; 7 sport-specific training videos; 8 championship rings; hundreds of athletes that still loyally e-mail updates and head coaches that believe in his coaching and training. Red has training experience at the NFL, NHL and Olympic Levels. In 2010 the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Association awarded him the coveted “Master Strength and Conditioning Coach” certification. He is one of 96 in the world to receive this prestigious certification.
