Born on the same year of tiananmen and the tearing down of the Berlin Wall, it was clear that I destined to grow up on a consistent diet of Batman, Calvin + Hobbes, live music and all things salsa. In the resultant 22 years, I published twice on Chinese urbanization in Routledge and Urban Geography, 学过普通话, explored the Middle Kingdom thrice, and once completed the Macau bungee jump. Reluctant to predict the future definitively, I can predict that it will involve Latin America, China, and of course--skinny ties. This is only the beginning.
