Tony DeSantis

With a passion for all things English, Tony is fully equipped to be a substantial asset to any writing or editing team.

After graduating from Illinois State University in 2010, Tony set out to build his skills as a writer and editor with real-world experience. He started out by utilizing his talents as a teacher and writer to tutor reading, English, and writing for ACT and SAT students at Huntington Learning Center. While he enjoyed teaching students the finer aspects of grammar, punctuation, and eloquence in writing, he wanted to extend his experience and continue growing as a professional of English.

To widen his writing repertoire, he began writing for Scooppost.com, a website which reports on cultural and sociopolitical events which impact the welfare and lifestyle of urban youth. Reporting on topics ranging from Nobel Prize winners and their work to Chicago's improvement of public transportation, Tony has developed his skills as a writer, journalist, researcher, and editor.

Continuing to evolve as a well-rounded professional, Tony accepted a two-month Editorial Internship position with GetLusty for Couples, a website committed to the physical and emotional well-being of all relationships. During his internship, Tony was responsible for editing and formatting user-submitted articles and uploading the edited articles onto the website. He was also responsible for adding content to articles that did not meet length requirements, writing content assigned by the Editor-in-chief, and crafting compelling copy for the website's business partners. This internship further strengthened Tony's abilities as a writer, editor, and proofreading while requiring strict deadlines, adherence to editorial guidelines, and optimization of organization.

Permanently in the pursuit of perfection, Tony continues to write, edit, and improve in all aspects of his professional, creative, and personal life. He continues to be a presence in social media, maintaining a Facebook, Google+, Twitter, multiple blogs, and just about everything else under the sun.

Tony recently finished an editorial internship and is currently a freelance writer, editor, and reporter with Scooppost.com; a substitute teacher with District 205 in Elmhurst, IL.; an ACT, subject, and general floor tutor at Huntington Learning Center; and a Park Ambassador with the Elmhurst Park District in the summer.
