It all started on my seventeenth birthday when my father gave me my first musical instrument. From that moment forward I was hooked and quickly joined my friends garage band. Several garages later I auditioned to become the bassist of a well known metal act in Dallas/Fort Worth. Throughout my musical career I was fascinated with the art of recording and production. Not wanting to do the typical working musician route of packing my guitar and heading out west to find fame. I stayed local and searched for a meidum that would allow me to use and express my creative talents.
Some where along the lines I stumbled upon the fascinating and exciting world of radio. As most radio newbies do I started as a street team member for a classic rock station, 93.3 The Bone. The station launched and was an instant sensation with listeners! Even as a street team member our was treated like rockstars by our loyal fans. To say I was hooked would be understatment I was addicted! I was willing to work as long and as much I could to move up into the exciting new realm of possibilities.
After three short months, I was promoted to work in the production department where I honed my skills of digital audio editing and voicing. I started from the bottom again voicing quick ten second tags and sponsorships. Within six months I applied to be part of the weekend on air staff at 93.3 The Bone. The first time I opened the mic and heard that distintive opening hiss in my headphones I thought I was going to passout! Each second felt like a minute and just like that my first white knuckle awkward on air debut was over. I would love to say that from there I became an instant radio pro but, it took a few more turns behind the mic to reach that pennacle.
Unfortunately, my time on the Dallas airwaves was limited. As radio normally goes ratings were not where they should be then a changing of management occurred and, sadly, I was ushered out. At the time there were outside circumstances that steered me away from the world that I had grown to love. Fastforward about seven years and few life instances, I made the decision to return to the exciting world of radio. Not only did I want to prove myself in the radio world again I wanted to finish my college degree. In May of 2012, I have successfuly completed my goals and looked forward to challenges and expereiences that lay ahead.
