Trudy Little

Consultant, presenter, and researcher in Tennessee

Hello! Thank you for wondering who I am. I am passionate about my Lord, my family, and my job- helping students and teachers reach their potential!

Writing, blogging, tweeting, pinning..... dabble really in this big world of social media. What are your passions in education? Let's connect!

I graduated from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor’s degree in early childhood and my teaching license. I taught third grade (gen ed inclusion) and self-contained high school for students with low incidence disabilities in metropolitan north-central Texas and rural west Texas. This entailed providing instruction for all core academic and pre-vocational classes. I then became the preschool special education consultant for Region 14 Education Service Center. In this new role, I was responsible for designing and providing training, coaching, and technical assistance to schools and their staff in 42 school districts.

After working directly in the public schools with students, families, and school faculties for 18 years, I moved my family to attend the doctoral program in special education at Vanderbilt University. My interests are on providing and coaching teachers/families on effective practices for addressing social emotional learning and challenging behaviors. I am in the process of acquiring my Board Certified Behavior Analysis (BCBA) certification. My experiences and training have fanned a passion for helping children learn the skills they need to appropriately interact with others and be confident and competent learners.
