Tyler “Ty” Gellasch is a former senior government official who is now advising clients on financial regulations and economic policy matters. Ty has proven to be a successful strategist, often devising multi-faceted approaches to solve complex policy problems.
Gellasch is frequently cited by press as an expert on financial regulation, including by the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Reuters, Politico, and numerous industry publications.
Gellasch left government service in early 2015 after holding senior positions in the US Senate and Securities and Exchange Commission. Gellasch helped draft portions of the Dodd-Frank Act, the Jumpstart Our Business Startups (JOBS) Act, Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge Act (STOCK) Act, the CUT Loopholes Act, and other legislation.
Gellasch began his career as a securities regulation and litigation lawyer at the law firms of Morgan Lewis & Bockius in New York City and Mayer Brown in Washington, DC.
Gellasch received his law and master of economics degrees from Duke University and his undergraduate degree from Case Western Reserve University.
