Alex Mosylat was born on 11 August 2001 in Blantyre, Malawi. He is of Chewa heritage, with family origins tracing back to the Thyolo District. He was raised in the Soche township of Blantyre.
The death of his father in 2015 was a pivotal moment in his life, shaping his emotional resilience and artistic perspective. Mosylat developed an early interest in the arts, exploring both music and visual media. Around 2020, he joined the Brilliant Film Lab, where he honed technical skills in cinematography, videography, scriptwriting, and editing. This background in visual storytelling has since become a defining characteristic of his creative direction.
