Val Stratford

Over the course of his more than 25-year career as a Layton, Utah, insurance professional, Val Stratford has co-owned Barlow Insurance Group and served as a commercial account executive at Zions Insurance Agency. Since 2004, he has owned and managed Stratford Insurance Group, Inc., a property casualty firm in Layton that offers a wide range of insurance products and services. As the firm’s president, Val Stratford oversees all internal human resources and external insurance industry relationships. Furthermore, he manages new client sales and plans long-term budgeting and businesses strategies.

Engaged in a variety of charitable causes, Val Stratford has sat on boards of the United Way of Davis County and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Weber-Davis. A six-time recipient of the Utah Commission on Volunteers’ outstanding service award, he has also received the organization’s Red Wagon honor. Currently, Mr. Stratford continues his commitment to charity as the executive director of the Layton Community Action Council, which he has led since 1999.
