Uchiha Sasuke
Otogakure no Sato
Sasuke was once an enthusiastic child with dreams of serving in the Konoha Military Police Force. He shadowed his elder brother, Itachi, and wanted to be a great ninja just like him. It wasn't to be though. Itachi slew the Uchiha clan one night and left Sasuke as the only survivor.
After that, Sasuke decided his purpose in life was to avenge his family. Defeating Itachi wouldn't be easy and he subjected himself to training regimes even grown men would balk at. Soon enough, Sasuke was hailed as a genius in his own right and he graduated from the Konohagakure Ninja Academy as "Top Rookie".
Despite this, Sasuke has a lot of issues. He received the poorest grade in his class for "cooperation" and constantly isolated himself from his peers. Sasuke has a hard time trusting people and rarely lets anyone get close to him emotionally. On more than one occasion classmates complained of his cruel attitude and Umino Iruka noted that Sasuke couldn't see past his own hatred.
The seriousness of his mental state became apparent when he attempted to search out and fight Itachi before he was even qualified to enter the Chunin exam. Itachi quickly trounced him, but left his brother alive once again. Sasuke ended up in the hospital under the care of the recently appointed Hokage, Senju Tsunade. Being a medic-nin, she assessed that he was unfit for battle and suspended him from duties almost immediately.
Sasuke spent the better part of the next four years in therapy. His chakra was bound his weapons taken away; Tsunade wanted him to have a chance at being a normal child. He was relocated to the Hyuga compound and slowly began to adjust to having a ''normal'' life. Acquiring a job at the library instilled in Sasuke a love of books. Together with his new teammate Sai, he attended classes to gain social skills and tried out a variety of hobbies.
After three years, Sasuke was eased back into training. He and Neji trained a little every day and twice a week, under the watchful eyes of Shizune and Kakashi, he practiced jutsu. Tsunade allowed him to enter the Chunin exams at the age of seventeen and he passed with flying colours. It was time to let him go. Yamanaka Inoichi and Nara Shikaku were brought in to do one last assessment on the boy.
Inoichi suggested Sasuke would be well suited to a career in the medical field and urged the Hokage to send the Uchiha to Otogakure. Sasuke agreed to go and is now training under Usagi Kayla.
