Victor Barringer

A third-generation purveyor of fine Appalachian lumber, Victor Barringer currently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of CLC Hardwoods, an international lumber manufacturing and distribution company headquartered in Charlottesville, Virginia. CLC Hardwoods’ modest origins stretch back to a single hardwood sawmill that was originally established by Mr. Barringer’s grandfather in 1937. Under Victor Barringer’s management, the company has expanded to serve customers throughout the United States, China, Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. In addition to its longstanding Virginia headquarters, CLC Hardwoods now supports regional offices in China and maintains a network of exclusive retail agents all over the globe. In order to meet the specific demands of his rapidly growing client base, Victor Barringer stocks lumber in a wide variety of wood species and types. In order to maintain its inventory, CLC Hardwoods’ affiliated company, Coastal Forest Resources, currently owns over 300,000 acres of productive timberland in West Virginia. This massive acreage ensures CLC Hardwoods’ ability to provide quality lumber products for years to come. In the event that customer demand begins to outpace company resources, Mr. Barringer and Coastal Forest Resources have access to additional West Virginia reserves that span more than 229,000 acres. Victor Barringer laid the groundwork for his successful career as an undergraduate at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While working toward a degree in Political Science, Mr. Barringer was chosen to serve on the University’s Board of Visitors, a volunteer organization that assists the Board of Trustees and Chancellor with a wide variety of public relations and fundraising issues.
