Walter Wolanin
New Castle County Vocational Technical School District alum Walter Wolanin spent the first part of his career as a United Steelworkers-affiliated welder and as a Building Material Associate with The Home Depot. Changing careers, Mr. Wolanin went on find great success as a barber, studying the craft at Akron Barber School. In the early 2000s, he opened Family Cuts Barber Shop and Beauty Salon in Brookfield, Ohio, which, has expanded over the past decade to include several facilities. Its success turned Walter Wolanin into a self-made millionaire. When not engaged in his business, Mr. Wolanin prefers non-fiction works on politics, history, religion, home improvement, and self-improvement. The outdoors enthusiast particularly enjoys magazines devoted to his passions of hunting and fishing. In the realm of fiction, he counts the works of Kevin Trudeau, Sylvia Browne, and Stephen King among his favorites. Contributing to the community remains an essential part of Walter Wolanin’s life. He spends holidays at area homeless shelters, including the Warren Family Mission, providing meals to people in need. As a member of the Brookfield Township Volunteer Fire Department, Mr. Wolanin rushes to the scenes of disasters and helps in any way possible. For some time, he has functioned as an Assistant Scout Master with his local chapter of the Boy Scouts of America imbuing youths with his belief in aiding others, appreciating the wilderness, and mastering practical life skills. Furthermore, Walter Wolanin also serves as an active member of Trumbull County Campaign for Liberty and the American Tea Party.
