Waveney Cato
Toronto
My name is Waveney and I like to think there is no event too big for me to handle nor team too difficult to partner with. I pride myself on being hard-working, detail-oriented and career-minded – three important and personal cornerstones that help me to get a job done, and done well. Every time.
I started my career as a communications specialist, then got my first taste of event management while working as a coordinator at the Ontario Bar Association. That's where I realized my passion for event management, and I've been in the field ever since.
I have planned corporate events, galas, award dinners and charity casinos. Not everyone can do what I do, but I am passionate about it and I am always looking for ways to do it better.
In my current role as a consultant, I help organizations succeed in their event goals, and my services encompass the gamut from event organization, planning, and post-mortem to providing marketing and promotional initiatives.
My priorities and passions lie within the not-for-profit sector and I feel strongly about giving back to community. To that end, in my spare time, I volunteer with the Ronald McDonald House Toronto Family Room at Markham-Stouffville Hospital where I register and greet familes of sick babies in the NICU and Paediatrics.
