An experienced Psychiatrist, Wayne Macfadden, MD, possesses an extensive background in clinical research and development. Earlier in his career, he served as an Associate Director of GlaxoSmithKline’s North American Medical Affairs, where he performed research and development of psychiatric treatments. He worked in the same capacity as the Director of US Medical & Scientific Affairs at Johnson & Johnson before joining Global Medical Institute in 2010 as a Psychiatrist and Clinical Trial Investigator. Wayne Macfadden, MD, also led the clinical R&D for new psychiatric drugs at two pharmaceutical companies, Roche and Novartis, in Basel, Switzerland.
Throughout his career, Dr. Macfadden has actively participated in both government and industry-sponsored clinical trials. He was the Subinvestigator of several single-dose interactions, as well as double-blind and placebo-controlled studies. In 2010, he served as the Principal Investigator of a long-term study involving maintenance treatment of adolescent patients suffering from schizophrenia.
In 2018, Dr. Macfadden joined the Spirit Lake Indian Nation Tribe Health Center on an Indian reservation in North Dakota, specializing in general psychiatry and treatment of substance abuse disorders. He also co-founded International Psychiatric Services, which offers psychiatric clinical services using medication-assisted treatment (MAT).
