WE ARE ONE CAMPAIGN

OUR MISSION

Empowering student leaders, inspiring teachers, & end bullying in schools across the Navajo Nation.

OUR VISION

Schools that are safe, inclusive havens of learning where students have allies & mentors who will encourage them to be who they are.

CAMPAIGN BEGINNINGS

The We Are One Campaign was founded through the efforts of Alray Nelson, who was also a victim of bullying growing up in Ganado, Arizona, on the Navajo Nation. Though he was bullied for being himself in school, Alray met this challenge by putting himself out there by serving as student council president & by joining the football & basketball teams. The problem of bullying among his peers was obvious & it continues to negatively impact students across the country today. It is the cause of increasing teen suicide rates & has led to feelings of low self-esteem among our young people. It is a preventable problem that must end.

The We Are One Campaign is here to empower communities. As we continue to grow as a non-profit organization, the foundation of our campaign is represented in our core values: Community - Leadership - Respect - Empowerment
