Wedil David

Before being discovered by her future mentor Garry Marshall, who cast her in Valentine’s Day and the soon to be released New Year’s Eve, Wedil David dreamed of acting as a little girl growing up in Greenwich, Connecticut. Born in New Delhi, India, Wedil began her acting career in New York City before her ambition brought her to Los Angeles. She initially worked as a model while auditioning for commercials, booking several regional and national spots.

Since moving to Los Angeles, Wedil has studied at some of the most reputable acting studios in Hollywood, including Lee Strasberg, Stella Adler, Howard Fine and Margie Haber, ascending to the master class at each studio. Currently, Wedil is studying with renowned acting coach John Kirby.

Wedil’s dedication to her craft eventually reaped benefits as she booked roles in TV and film including The Bold & The Beautiful and Club Soda working opposite Oscar winner Louis Gossett, Jr. Wedil also plied her craft on stage, performing lead supporting roles in The Hurlyburly (“Darlene”), The Boychick Affair (“Penny”) and Toyer (“Maude”).

Wedil had the opportunity to film her first role in a major motion picture playing “Rekha Singh” in the 2010 blockbuster Valentine’s Day opposite Oscar winner Jamie Foxx. Director and Hollywood legend Garry Marshall was so impressed with her performance that she was cast in a principal role in Mr. Marshall’s next star studded project, New Year’s Eve, which she filmed earlier this year in New York City and worked opposite two-time Oscar winner Hillary Swank. The film is scheduled to be released December 9, 2011.

In a relatively short time, not only has Wedil worked opposite three Oscar winners, she has worked with some of the finest actors in Hollywood including James Gandolfini, Joe Mantegna, Jessica Biel, Jennifer Garner, Hector Elizondo, Carter Jenkins and Ludacris.

When’s she not on-set or studying, Wedil devotes herself to supporting various organizations committed to ensuring the humane and ethical treatment of animals including the Humane Society of America and Ace of Hearts Animal Rescue.

A resident of West Hollywood, Wedil is a fixture on the red carpet, frequently rubbing elbows with her biggest supporters and Hollywood friends, including Garry Marshall, Craig Robinson, Kate Linder (Young & the Restless) and Ken Davitian (Borat
