After graduating from the original “Aveda Institute” in Minneapolis, Isaac packed up and moved to New York City where he joined the famed “Hair Police” a salon famed for their pioneering in alternative style, specializing in hair extensions and dreadlocks. After many years of mastering his technique Isaac went on to gain a coveted apprenticeship with one of Broadway’s leading wigmakers where he focused on learning the age old craft of wig making, design, styling and application. From there he set his sights on establishing his own design studio “Wigbar”, which quickly became one of NY’s premier go-to studios for wig making and hair design. Isaac’s work has been shot by renowned photographers including Steven Meisel, Jim Fiscus, Terry Richardson, Dale May and Aaron Cobbett. His client roster has included Chanel, Bebe, TopShop and DKNY. He has also designed and created custom wigs for the acclaimed “Museum at FIT” exhibit featuring style muse Daphne Guinness’ private collection of iconic fashions including Alexander McQueen, Chanel, Christian Dior and Valentino one of a kinds. Isaac designed and created “found object” wigs for the Off-Broadway production of “Cornbury, the Queens Governor”, reviewed and featured in the “New York Times”. Again, his work was praised in “The New York Times-Arts Section” showcasing his creation of four-by-four foot wigs exhibited in the “Hessel Museum of Art”. His work can also be seen in artist Lorna Simpson’s fine art photography exhibition “Recollection” exhibited at the Walker Art Center and the Brooklyn Art Museum. His television credits include: featured wig expert on MTV’s “Made”, “Make Me a Supermodel” and Tyra Banks’ “America’s Next Top Model”. He has created looks for “RuPaul’s Drag Race” as well as styling the likes of Snooki, JWoww and Sarah and Nikki on MTV’s “Sara and Nikki Live”. He was recently featured in Allure magazine for his work. Isaac currently resides in New York City and Los Angeles.
