Wilborn Nobles III is a metro reporter at NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune who covers crime in his hometown, New Orleans. A Louisiana State University graduate, Wilborn interned at The Washington Post where he covered local crime in the paper and national news online.He is a recipient of LSU's Social Media News Challenge grant, which funded the creation of P.O.W.E.R., a police accountability app.
Wilborn researches FBI files related to civil rights era cold case murders in rural Louisiana and Mississippi involving the Ku Klux Klan for the LSU Cold Case Project. He is a member of the 2015 Chips Quinn Scholars Program and a recipient of the 2014 Scripps Howard Foundation Internship Grant. He is the 2014-15 president of the Association of Black Communicators and the inaugural editor-in-chief of LSU Student Media’s digital staff (lsureveille.com).
