I love theater, and have written, directed and/or performed in many plays/musicals, many connected with 12-step Recovery. (Friend of Lois W since 1986.) I do some comedy routines, primarily impersonations of famous people, including Queen Victoria, Tallulah Bankhead, and telephone operator Ernestine Tomlin (beloved creation of Lily Tomlin).

I have been collecting records since I was four. Have many hundreds of 78s, 45s and albums. Foreign languages are another hobby; I love them, and wish I could learn them all. One of the most common questions I am asked is "How many languages do you speak?" That's not an easy question to answer. Do you mean speak fluently? A few words? Carry on a basic conversation? Read or write, but not speak?

I admit my language skills aren't what they once were. Several years with early stage Alzheimer's will do that. But I can still carry on a basic conversation in French, and to a lesser extent in Russian and Hebrew. I can understand Spanish to some degree if it's spoken slowly. Can read and write biblical Hebrew & Greek, speak some Italian, a few words or phrases in Japanese, Mohawk, Polish, German, Dutch, Cantonese, etc.
