Willy Drinkwater

I am entering my 21st year working in the addiction/mental health field; from shelters in the beginning, to hospital detoxification units, to day & evening treatment programs, inpatient psychiatric facilities, to, well, I guess one could say I have worked in all the modalities.

Currently I find myself an adjunct professor at the University of Massachusetts-Boston & Cambridge College where I teach in their addiction counselor education programs; courses on substance abuse & co-occurring disorders & counseling techniques.

Through my company, Entertaining Education, I provide staff trainings for mental health professionals and community organizations on various mental health topics; from stress busting, to utilizing community resources. My style is high energy and humorous due in part to my previous life as a 'stand-up' comedian by night, and a comedy writer/voice talent by day for a "Rock n Roll" radio station in Boston back in the mid-eighties.

I maintain a limited private practice where I work mainly with those that have substance abuse coupled to other mental health issues.
