Wolfgang Schmidt

Dipl. Informatiker Wolfgang Schmidt is founder, acting partner and the managing director of X-INTEGRATE Soft-ware & Consulting GmbH. He founded the company in April 2007. He has a proven track record as an adept engineer, consultant, project leader and IT manager in software engineering and IT consultancy.

He started his career in 1988 as a software developer in the utility industry. After postgraduate studies in computer science and electrical engineering he had different responsibilities in small and medium enter-prises and large corporations. Before founding X-INTEGRATE he was responsible for creating a new business unit for a big German IT System retailer and consulting company. For this company he estab-lished the business in the area of process-oriented SW solutions. Since a couple of years he works on the combination of SOA and Cloud Computing technologies to leverage hybrid cloud connectivity as agility driver for companies.

He focuses on the one hand in the development of best practice models for middleware and especially since the mid-1990s in the area of middleware for distributed systems and enterprise application integra-tion. Secondly, he is working in the field of process agility using modern service-oriented architectures. In recent times especially in the combination of SOA and Cloud IT with a focus on integration and interoperability technologies esp. integration as a service to increase agility and minimize costs for companies.

So, Wolfgang focuses on emerging business integration technology spaces and the industry's move toward cloud computing. Furthermore, Wolfgang Schmidt is a co-founder and board member of the SaaS-EcoSystem e.V. This German association is an active network for SaaS & cloud business to leverage new cloud technologies, empowers the SaaS business operations of software vendors across all sectors, bundles expertise in a tight network and generates synergies.

He is a frequent speaker at conferences covering SOA, Cloud IT and enterprise computing topics and is a recognized technology thought leader who has appeared in different German publications like digital business, IT-BUSINESS, searchsoftware.de and more.
