I grew up in a small town in India, and I hated it. I lived in Delhi for ten years and loved it. I reported from Turkey and marveled at grey Persian cats leisurely perched at lampposts. Now I live in New York and wear a ton of black.

I am a journalist and a copywriter, curious about how culture, identity and commerce mold the world around us. After graduating from Columbia Journalism School, I am busy blending that extensive understanding of art, music, theater, television, race relations and feminist discourse with my seven-years of reporting and writing experience. I have chased stories and tracked sources in Hungary, Nepal, Bhutan and famous, infamous, little-known places in India.

As a copywriter, I specialize in social media, TVCs, website copy, radio scripts, viral campaigns, brochures and print ads. Brands like Whirlpool, Nissan China, Xoom money transfer service, Hero Honda and Citibank have tested and trusted my work.

I initiated the social media presence for Brunch, the Sunday magazine for Hindustan Times, one of India's most-widely read daily. I managed all social media accounts, trained social media editors and increased the official Twitter following from couple of hundred to 48,000 when I left for Columbia. Somewhere in between, I also acquired a personal Twitter following of close to 10,000 and a verified account.

I am a freelance branding and social media consultant and I’m always looking for a new problem to solve. So if you’ve got a doozy you need hand with, feel free to contact me directly at [email protected].
