Yasir Hamed
Director, Consultant, and Professional Services in Woodbridge, CT
I am an educator and global programs leader with a lifelong commitment to learning, cross-cultural engagement, and professional development. Currently, I serve as Director of Global Professional Services in New Haven, Connecticut, where I focus on advancing international collaboration and supporting meaningful professional growth across diverse communities.
My academic path reflects my dedication to education and languages. I earned a Master’s Degree in Education from AIU in 2006 and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study from UMass Amherst in 2012. In 2009, I was honored with induction into the Alpha Mu Gamma Honor Society at Fairfield University for excellence in world languages.
Over the course of my career, I have taught Arabic and Middle East studies at institutions including Fairfield University, Yale University, Wesleyan University, Dartmouth College, the University of New Haven, and Southern Connecticut State University. From 2008 to 2017, I also served as Academic Director at the School for International Training in Brattleboro, Vermont, where I led global, experiential learning programs grounded in cultural immersion.
Beyond my professional work, I value lifelong learning and balance. I enjoy reading, playing chess, practicing Tai Chi, and camping. I am also proud to support cultural initiatives through my involvement with New Haven’s International Festival of Arts & Ideas. At every stage of my work, I strive to build connections through education, culture, and shared understanding.
