Yasmin Bathamanathan is a writer, poet and brand strategist based in Penang. An advocate of lifelong learning, she recently completed her degree in English Studies at Wawasan Open University, 12 years after dropping out from college in the US. She has co-authored three books, the latest of which is an ambitious bilingual poetry project and Malaysia's first English-Hokkien poetry book titled "Found in Translation". From 2015 up until its demise, Yasmin had a weekly-column on The Malaysian Insider in which she sought to bring the discourse on gender, intersectionality and gender politics to the everyday Malaysian. When she is not putting on her writer's hat, Yasmin spends her time working as a communications specialist-cum-brand strategist-cum-events and campaign manager.

Fun fact: Yasmin is a newly-minted Mensan.
