After more than a decade in the television business, I realized it was time for a change. Not just for me – for the TV.
With the realization that the 60+ year old gridded program guide is becoming obsolete, I gathered a group of highly experienced professionals, with extensive knowledge in programming, cinema and language analysis, and set out to create a new way. A new way to discover content, a new way to browse the insane number of available channels, and a better way to decide what to watch – by knowing beforehand what you enjoy. And that's how Jinni was born.
Jinni is the first (and only) mood-and-taste based discovery & recommendations engine, which uses Natural Language Processing to power a truly user-centric TV guide that breaks away from the grid, enabling consumers a more enjoyable viewing experience.
If you would like to learn more about the evolving stages of entertainment consumption, about how we, as consumers, have changed our selection habits, and what drives us to select one movie over another and purchase a ticket, a subscription, or a cable network package, and most importantly – what are the tools available to us today to help us with these decisions – I invite you to read my recently published book, Super Search Me!
