Rev. Zoe Heming
Disability Adviser and Vicar in Stafford, United Kingdom
I am a creative, wheelchair-using C of E Rev. with a passion for sharing faith in new ways. I believe church should be an inclusive, welcoming, community space for all people to discover and enjoy God-given gifts. I love my work among the church community as much as I love leading others to serve the whole community.
I spend half my time as a Vicar and the other half working as a Diocesan Officer Disability Advisor. This involves mentoring disabled individuals as well as creating structural and cultural changes which affect disabled people.
I'm a very active member of General Synod, one of the Panel of Chairs for debates and a founder member of Accessible Synod working to ensure that the disabled perspective is brought to all the work of General Synod.
For the last few years I have been in many national working groups and committees (some of which I Chair) relating to creating change in the C of E to which remove barriers for disabled people.
