Hi, my name is Abhishek (pronounced: uh - b h ee - sh eh k). I’m a Senior Consultant at EY Germany, helping banks navigate the ever-shifting tides of financial regulations. With a PhD in complex systems, I bring a scientist’s curiosity and an engineer’s precision to the world of risk management. Think of me as a bridge between math, finance, and AI, making sense of the numbers while keeping an eye on the bigger picture.

My academic journey began at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Pune (BS-MS 2018), where I explored how cells "think" and migrate—a fascinating puzzle that took me from Pune to Barcelona, Dortmund, and Bonn. After earning my Dr. rer. nat. from the Max Planck Institute and TU Dortmund, I swapped lab coats for financial models and joined EY in 2022.

Now, instead of studying cells on the move, I analyze risk models, capital requirements, and regulatory frameworks. Whether it’s helping banks weather Basel III storms, fine-tuning their risk engines, or building AI-powered tools to simplify compliance, I love turning complexity into clarity. My toolbox includes Python, R, SQL, and Microsoft Power Platform, with a special knack for Agentic AI and M365 Copilot solutions.

Beyond work, I’m an explorer at heart—whether it’s tackling interdisciplinary challenges, hunting for the perfect meal, or wandering through a new city. Born in Calcutta (Kolkata), India, and shaped by Pune’s academic energy, I now call Cologne, Germany home, where I live with my wife and our toddler who keeps life delightfully unpredictable. Fluent in English, Hindi, and Bengali, I’m also working my way through German (B1)—slowly but surely!
