A.H. Muhammad is a nurse, educator and patient advocate. A member of the American Cannabis Nurses Association she focuses her advocacy and studies on women and senior's health.

Born and raised on the south side of Chicago she attended Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee, and Kennedy King College in Chicago where she studied health sciences and nursing. With a nursing career that spans over a decade, her experience includes geriatrics, hospice and palliative care, home health, adult wellness, and data quality auditing.

After suffering from fibroids, undergoing multiple surgeries and witnessing her patients coping with debilitating illnesses Ms. Muhammad shifted her studies and advocacy to women and senior's health, focusing on how cannabis can improve their quality of life.

As a member of Chicago NORML and the Illinois Chapter of Minorities for Medical Marijuana Ms. Muhammad is committed to lifting the stigma associated with cannabis consumption among faith and the medical communities. She is dedicated to increasing the number of qualifying conditions for medical cannabis patients, lobbying for responsible legalization for adult use in the city of Chicago and the State of Illinois and ultimately to remove cannabis from the federal drug schedules. On April 20, 2019, as a member of the planning committee for the Chicago Cannabis Health Initiative, a joint venture between Chicago NORML and CANNAHEALTH Magazine, she helped to produce their inaugural cannabis health and wellness fair.

Ms. Muhammad lives on the south side of Chicago with her husband and their tiny panther Bloo. In her spare time, she enjoys community gardening and talking about cannabis for better health to anyone that will listen.
