Annie Hamilton

Environmental Educator in Washington

Kushe! I’m Annie.

I am an Environmental Educator who has donated my belongings, packed up my husband and two guinea pigs, and headed west to find a community to settle in and become a part of.

I’ve always had love for the outdoors, animals, plants, rocks, water, and their influence on local culture. I want to share this love with others, and want to get as many kids, teens, and adults outside as I can.

I have experience with small and large groups from preschoolers to adults. I have written curriculum in many nature, science, and outdoor topics. I have led programs from 15 minutes in length to 8 hour 5-day camps. I have produced a variety of interpretive materials. Perhaps most importantly, I love to learn.

Some of my favorite experiences include; being a naturalist at Harriet Alexander Nature Center in Minnesota, a middle school science teacher in Kamakwie, Sierra Leone with the Peace Corps, a visitor services intern at Seney National Wildlife Refuge in upper Michigan, studying abroad in Queensland, Australia, and spending the best days of my childhood on the lakes of Wisconsin.
