Ever since I was little, I have always been very interested in animals. I would buy educational books about them, watch National Geographic, or even kid shows that talked about animals. I loved them so much that even if there was an animal that I had zero to no knowledge about, if someone asked me what animal it was, I would be able to tell them what it was called. I was also able to tell the difference between a lot of similar animals as a kid. A couple examples would be telling the difference between a crow, a raven, or a magpie as well as telling the difference between the calls or roars of a leopard, jaguar, or cheetah. While I always had a passion for animals in general, I’ve been starting to gain interest in one specifically: the cat. Growing up, me and my family never really had a cat due to allergies in the family, but after reading about them (and watching cat videos online), I felt like I related to this animal a lot. Some examples might be personality traits or behavior patterns; between me and a cat, we are both sneaky, really quiet, but also really sassy if we want to be. However, if I had to choose the biggest similarity between me and a cat, I would say our love for taking naps.

My love for animals has really helped me grow as a person. Learning more about them helps me learn more about the environment and the world I live in.
