آلاء جعفر الصادق

Aalaa Gaffar El-Sadek is an assistant professor and researcher in information science and technology. She holds a Ph.D. degree in data processing in information institutions and a Master of Arts degree in the second-generation of libraries from Alexandria University. She has over ten years of experience teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in various information-related domains, such as digital libraries, electronic publishing, data science, informatics, information systems, information networks and web technologies, at Alexandria University and Alamein International University. She also manages and supervises several projects and initiatives that aim to improve the quality and impact of information services and systems in academic and professional settings. She manages the digital library unit at Alexandria University, where she oversees the development of the digital repository and the digital library services for the university community. She is also the supervisor of the academic integrity and plagiarism prevention project at Alexandria University and an office manager of research integrity at the Science & Technology and Innovation Fund (STDF); she is responsible for ensuring ethical standards and best practices in scientific research funded by STDF. She has also worked as a consultant and a trainer for developing digital libraries for public schools in Egypt and for enhancing the skills of librarians in using web technologies, databases, social media, and digital tools. She is an active member of several university, national and regional committees related to scientific research ethics, university ranking, university journals, and digital libraries management.
She has a diverse intellectual production that includes books, scientific papers, supervision of academic theses, and participation in international and regional conferences and workshops in her field. Her research interests include using smart technologies in information institutions, developing evaluation criteria for digital libraries, optimizing query processing, electronic health records systems, analyzing research interests, and detecting digital misinformation. She is passionate about learning new skills and keeping up with the latest trends and developments in her field.
