Anwar Alsaid (Dr.)Anwar alsaid is a seeded Educationist, currently is a Programme Education Specialist at UNESCO Doha Office since Jan. 2014 with a mandate stretches over the GCC countries and Yemen. Prior to joining Doha Office, Alsaid served for 7 years at UNESCO Jakarta Office covering Brunei, East Timor, Indonesia, Malaysia, and The Philippines. He also served in Afghanistan and North Iraq. However, his longest career path was a University Professor in Educational Planning and Economics of Education at the University of Jordan, where he also served as Assistant Dean, the College of Educational Sciences. During the long and rewarding experience, Alsaid’s commitment to excellence through action research and academic research in general have always facilitated strong cooperation with relevant researchers and research institutions, ability to prepare research/project proposals as well as proposal reviews to facilitate funding decisions. With Alsaid’s academic background and practical experience in the field, at international level, building professional networks and partnerships have always given close attention.Serving at many different countries, divers situations, multicultural settings, working with different groups of professionals of different cultural and professional background have all contributed to possessing sound managerial skills (Admin, Management, Financial, Human Resources), with high levels of integrity to serving the goals of the institutions Alsaid served at.Planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, reporting and closure of accounts, all are central to achieving the ultimate goals being served as well as to achieving excellence. The overall experience Alsaid has accumulated over the years of rich engagements at different levels and at different institutions has provided strong managerial skills which would all be brought in to contribute to the advancement of any new position Alsaid would be selected to serve. Education has been for long Alsaid’ s passion especially in post conflict and in-conflict situations paying extensive efforts to the most marginalized groups including those of special needs. Aside from the strong academic background and experience, on-ground experienced have boosted Alsaid’s conceptualization of education thematic areas and planning/implementing skills.
