Ever since I was a young girl, I've had a passion for storytelling. Just ask my siblings.
I vividly remember dragging them up to the couch to read them an animated read aloud of Cat in the Hat or a somber anecdote from my mother's ginormous book about black history.
This emerging passion ultimately led to interests in multimedia journalism, mentoring, teaching and traveling.
After graduating from Indiana University, I joined Teach for America to teach and mentor in communities like my childhood neighborhood.
Right now, I am an education and multimedia professional whose life-long passion and mission in life is to increase racial/ethnic minority social advocacy involvement through writing, multimedia and speech. As a tenacious, dedicated "twenty-something" with a fiery desire for youth development through storytelling, I am searching for the perfect career that aligns with the passions in my life.
In the near future, I hope to serve national and global communities through investigative education reporting and teaching. I believe that every child deserves the right to a balanced education, one that encourages creative and critical thinking.
I want to teach. I want to foster growth. I want to inspire. I want to show young world changers how to become their own unsung storytellers.
Welcome to the unsung, folks. Sit down, relax and enjoy the journey.
