Aaron Phillips, Assoc. AIA, LEEP AP O+M, is the new Director of Virtual Design and Construction at Danis Building Construction Company. He has been responsible for the implementation of building information modeling for architects, engineers, as well as a design-build group that all together has generating over $2.9 billion in construction. Aaron is arguably one of the most knowledgeable people in the nation regarding the application of BIM to the design, construction and facility management processes. Aaron has developed demonstration scripts and data sets for the government division of Autodesk on redocumenting existing government buildings and how to use that documentation to provide energy simulations during the auditing phases of government projects. He has also authored a process white paper with Autodesk on how to use Revit and Ecotect Analysis 2010 to create conceptual energy simulations and is also the author of the Indiana University BIM Standards and Guidelines as well as US Central Command’s BIM Standards. He also regularly speaks at regional and national events and has also spoken to select groups like the Design Futures Council and the Society for American Military Engineers. Aaron also helped create a company that provided BIM services to manufactures, contractors, and owners which provides digital content, implementation services, modeling services, and consulting.
