I am a husband & father - as well as a founder of small business at Varvid. I live and run my business from Bellingham, WA. I started "Webcasting" (now mostly known as Live Streaming) in 2003 and sold my IT Consulting Business in 2010 to focus exclusively on video for Events. In the photo, I'm the big guy in the back.

Our About Us on our website tells my story pretty well, slightly modified here to be first person:

Varvid’s origins trace back to 2002 when I used my IT expertise to help filmmaking friends webcast a local rock concert in Bellingham, WA. Running Quicktime Streaming Server on an xServe in cabinet at my colo. I streamed a 240×180 pixel "webcast" to 150 viewers in the US and Japan from my friend's bar for the band Federation X.

In 2003, we secured our first major client, Wizards of the Coast, and became the established streaming solution for Magic: The Gathering’s Pro Tour, an annual series of tournaments held in cities across the globe. Since then, Varvid has provided media production services internationally for events in the accounting, entertainment, eSports, healthcare, IT, and non-profit industries.

We don’t follow the old school broadcasting model of pricing out projects with the most expensive equipment and crews we possibly can, and we’re passionate about providing our clients with the right solution that meets their needs. With our background in both the IT and Media Production industries, we’re always integrating new hardware and software solutions into our workflow to deliver an incredible show for our clients at a competitive price.
