I'm a Geologist originally from the UK now based in Australia. I've always been fascinated by geology and whenever the chance to get involved or find out more came along I went for it.
My first time working in geology was when I was still at school where I took every opportunity for work placements at the Geological Survey of Northern Ireland.
I went on to study geology at Imperial College London, there I discovered my love of being in the field. Whilst there I took every opportunity to be out in the field and went on every field trip that was available to me both inside and outside my degree programme.
Once I graduated I began working as a geologist for Geolog International where I worked on rigs in The North Sea, Romania and Libya. In my time there I worked on a variety of wells from exploration to development.
I came to Australia in 2012 where I have since been working as a geologist in the Coal Seam Gas industry. In this role I have been based on various rig sites throughout Queensland identifying coal seams in core and selecting samples for further anaylsis.
