Aasha Ealy

provisionally licensed attorney and social justice in Long Beach, California

I’m Aasha Ealy, a provisionally licensed attorney focused on criminal defense, justice reform, and public advocacy.

My path into law is shaped by both education and lived experience. I’ve worked within the system and navigated it personally, which gives me a practical and grounded perspective on how it impacts real people.

I earned my Juris Doctor from the University of West Los Angeles and hold undergraduate degrees in Sociology, English, and Ethnic Studies from Santa Clara University. My work centers on post-conviction advocacy, legal research, and helping individuals better understand their rights.

I’m especially passionate about self-advocacy. I believe people are stronger when they have the knowledge and confidence to speak up for themselves.

Through my work and public speaking, I aim to make the law more accessible, more human, and more responsive to the people it serves.

“You don’t always get a fair starting point—but you can still decide how you respond.”
