My name is Abbie, and unfortunately when you hear it said out loud you don’t hear the -ie ending and so most people think my name is Abby. But I couldn’t imagine being an Abby. I think I’d be a totally different person. So anyway on a list of my favorite things you would find coffee extremely close to the top. Black coffee. No sugar, no cream. Just the coffee. I’m not a human without it. The day has not started until I've had at least two cups. Time and time again it has brought me out of a foggy haze. The best part about coffee, however, is the coffeeshops. My mom and I went on a roadtrip last summer and we made sure to stop at as many coffeeshops as we possibly could. That is how I judge a town, by its coffeeshops. My favorite town ever might be Bend, OR, in large part because of the plethora of unique and quality cafes in the area. I could not have come to UGA if there were not good coffeshops here. I can even enjoy studying if I'm in a coffeeshop. Something about the atmosphere of a good one can make anything enjoyable. They are also the perfect place to chat with friends on a rainy day. Someday I think I want to open one of my own, with the best music and a mini library and local items for sale and open mic nights and plants and, of course, lattes that make people want to come back every day.
