My name is Abbie Thiebaut. Originally from Jackson, Michigan, I decided to take my studies to Huntington University. I am currently a junior here at HU and I am double majoring in public relations and communication studies, with a minor in marketing. It is my intent, after shaping my skills more fully through education and internships during school, to enter the not-for-profit world. I feel the most inspired when I see people helping other people and it is my desire to be a catalyst that prompts others to that compassionate action. I think the most effective communication tool that we have is the telling of stories. I believe that through my passions in event planning, social media, and public relations, I can tell the stories of those people around the world who may not have the resources to speak for themselves. I am a fun, passionate, and hardworking individual and would love the opportunity to further my educational experience through jobs and internships.
On a more personal level, I am a self-confessed coffee addict, avid watcher of the Friends TV show, Resident Assistant for Hardy Hall, and a lover of all things striped and polka-dotted. Three of the happiest days of my life were my twentieth birthday, the time I won a fishing contest at the age of seven, and any day that I can spend quality time with good friends and family.
