My name is Abby Herndon and I absolutely love food. More specifically, I am obsessed with watching food videos - the quick 30 second to two minute clips you can find all over Facebook or Instagram. If I don't have anything to do and have my phone in hand, there is a high chance that I'm scrolling through a thread of different food related videos. Honestly, the only videos that I have 'saved' on Instagram are about food. I could spend way more time than I would like to admit watching these mouth watering videos. My personal favorites are all recipes involving any amount of avocados - they are my all time favorite food. Since I don't have the luxury of cooking for myself and trying out most of these recipes on my own while living at school, I pretty much live vicariously through the videos. From unique but simple breakfasts to delectable desserts, there isn't a video of food creation that I haven't already watched over and over. When I am home and have access to a full kitchen, I love to attempt to recreate the recipes from my favorite videos. I am definitely not a professional cook, but in the moment I absolutely feel like the top chef in a five star restaurant when I see the meal I originally had only seen in the form of a video come to life in my own kitchen. There is definitely a satisfaction boost when the food actually looks and tastes as good as I had hoped it would!
