Abby Sanabria is a Master of Science in Nursing – Clinical Nurse Leader candidate at Rush University, graduating December 2026. Her hands-on training has centered on surgical and high-acuity care: a perioperative internship in orthopaedic and orthopaedic-trauma surgery at UChicago Medicine, where she scrubbed in and circulated on cases under preceptor supervision, and a senior clinical immersion in vascular, urology and trauma surgery at Northwestern Memorial, with additional operating-room shadowing across transplant, cardiac and neurosurgery. Earlier, she coordinated a busy orthopaedic surgery practice, giving her a strong feel for how surgical teams run. She is drawn to fast-paced, high-acuity environments where careful assessment and clear communication matter most, and is building toward a career in critical care and emergency nursing. Above all, she is committed to safe, patient-centered nursing and to being the kind of teammate a unit can count on, bringing curiosity, a strong work ethic and a genuine drive to keep learning at the bedside.
