I am currently a first-year student in the Higher Education and Student Affairs program at the University of Connecticut. I assist in the coordination of an academic intervention program, UConn Connects, and an associated walk-in process tutoring center. As a result, much of my research interests center around access and retention of underrepresented populations - specifically Latino/a, theories of student development, the impact of punitive vs. rehabilitative models of student conduct, and the impact of organizational structure on effectiveness. These broad interest areas lead me to draw on findings within organizational psychology on motivation, personality predictors of success, and supervision as they can inform how we can create individualized lessons for students and contribute positively to their intellectual and career trajectories.
