Abdulai Bah is a NYC-based independent storyteller and educator. He has reported for media outlets such as PRI, ABC Radio National (Australia), The Nation magazine, Pacifica Radio, PBS NewsHour, WNYC, and more. Following hurricanes Katrina and Rita in the Gulf Coast, he traveled there to report on the victims of New Orleans and Gulfport. Bah has also traveled to Liberia to train women survivors of the civil war as they ready the launch of their community radio station in Monrovia.
Bah was part of a media team whose work was presented at venues ranging from Massachusetts Institute of Technology to IDEO New York to The White House Office of Technology and Science.
A native of Sierra Leone, Bah speaks five languages including French. Formerly detained at the Elizabeth Immigration Detention Center in New Jersey, he is actively involved with immigrant communities through interpretation and translation services he provides to various NYC & New Jersey law firms and NGOs handling asylum cases.
