Zaynab is a visionary leader committed to social justice. With a deep passion for demystifying higher education and understanding how inequality functions in society, she is enjoys organizing around the liberation of Black people globally.

When not trying to expand her photography portfolio, Zaynab is probably exploring the Bay Area. Currently, she is intending to declare a double major in Sociology and African American Studies at the University of California of, Berkeley where is also a Regents' and Chancellor's Scholar (a distinction awarded to the top 1.5% of all incoming classes) and a Mellon Mays Undergraduate Research Fellow.

For the 2016-2017 school year, Zaynab will be serving as an Associated Students of the University of California (ASUC) Senator charged with advocating for Black / Afrikan diasporic student affairs and concerns of Cal residents in the Berkeley Student Cooperative System (BSC).

Zaynab is a California native -- she was born and raised in South Central. For the past two years she has called Berkeley home.
