Abraham Malinga Eceku
Project Specialist - Field operations in Jinja, Uganda
Abraham Eceku is a results-driven operations and programs leader, and a committed advocate for Climate-Smart Agriculture, youth empowerment, rural development, health equity, and social justice. He currently serves as Head of Field Programs at One Acre Fund Uganda, where he leads large-scale, decentralized field operations and coordinates cross-functional teams to support smallholder farmers to work their way out of poverty through long-term investments in cash crops and sustainable agricultural systems.
Abraham brings a strong blend of strategic thinking and hands-on execution, with deep experience translating ambitious organizational goals into clear plans, measurable OKRs, and actionable guidance for frontline teams. His work spans farmer enrollment, commercial input sales, performance management, talent development, and partnerships across impact, commercial, and operations functions. He is particularly known for simplifying complexity—turning data, targets, and constraints into practical field execution.
Previously, Abraham was a Global Health Corps Fellow with Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation–Uganda, where he led the mainstreaming of gender and development strategies across HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, and care programs. He has also served as a Community Development Officer with Uganda’s Ministry of Local Government and as a Policy Researcher with the Parliament of Uganda. Earlier, he supported cross-border communities in Eastern Uganda in peace building, conflict resolution, and agricultural interventions to address hunger and poverty.
Abraham believes sustainable development is driven by youth livelihoods, gender equality, women’s advancement, and human-centred approaches. He is deeply passionate about maximizing impact in resource-limited environments and brings strong multicultural sensitivity, inclusion, and adaptability to diverse contexts. Outside of work, he enjoys connecting with people, traveling, and exchanging ideas and innovations.
